Historic Town of Vigan and the Church of Nuestra Senora de la Asuncion in Ilocos Sur and Paoay Church in Ilocos Norte.

Its architecture reflects the blending of cultural elements from other parts of the Philippines, China, and Europe, making its townscape the only one of its kind in Asia.

Two of the four churches inscribed as “Baroque Churches of the Philippines” in 1993 by UNESCO and World Heritage Sites are to be found in Ilocos. First is the church of Nuestra Senora de la Asuncion in Sta. Maria, Ilocos Sur built in 1765 and the other is the church of San Agustin in Paoay, Ilocos Norte built in 1710. Their unique architectural styles are reinterpretations of European Baroque by Chinese and Philippine craftsmen.
